Each day (except half-days), students in Little Lambs through 8th grade can enjoy hot lunches and a variety of à la carte items from the Charger Café. It’s a convenient option for busy families, and adding funds is easy through your FACTS Family Portal.
Here’s how it works:
- Each morning, 2nd–8th grade students let their homeroom teacher know if they’re planning to purchase lunch—either the hot meal of the day or the à la carte items. Snacks, milk, juices, yogurts, cheese sticks, chips, fruit, and a variety of other items are also available on a daily basis, but these can be selected as students go through the lunch line.
- Teachers then pass the hot meal/ à la carte info to the Café staff so they can prepare just the right amount of food.
- For our Little Lambs, VPK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students, lunches can be pre-ordered up to 7:30 a.m. the day of using the “Lunch” button in your FACTS Family Portal. If you forget to order by 7:30 a.m. and your student needs lunch, Little Disciples parents should email LDA@sjscf.org to ensure your child has a lunch—we’ll do our best to accommodate. For students in Kindergarten - 1st grade, if you miss the 7:30 a.m. cutoff time, please email your child's teacher. And don’t worry—we’ll always make sure every child has lunch.
You can keep track of what your child purchases each day by logging into your FACTS account. We do ask that families discuss any snack or spending guidelines with their child, as the school isn’t able to monitor individual choices at the Café.
To set up your lunch account:
- There’s a $50 minimum per family to start.
- You’ll get a notification when your balance gets down to $25.
To add funds:
Go to FACTS Family Portal → Financial → Prepay Accounts → Add Funds
