Students are welcome to bring their lunch to school each day. Each day (except half-days), students in Little Lambs through 8th grade can also enjoy a hot lunch option and a variety of à la carte items from the Charger Café. It’s a convenient option for busy families, and adding funds is easy through your FACTS Family Portal.
Here’s how it works:
- Each morning, 2nd - 8th grade students let their homeroom teacher know if they’re planning to purchase lunch—either the hot meal of the day or the à la carte items (see the menu for daily offerings). Snacks, milk, juices, yogurts, cheese sticks, chips, fruit, salads, and a variety of other items are also available on a daily basis. These can be selected as students go through the lunch line.
- Teachers then pass the hot meal/ à la carte info to the Café staff so they can prepare just the right amount of food.
- For our Little Disciples Academy students, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students, lunches must be pre-ordered no later than 7:30 a.m. the day of using the “Lunch” button in your FACTS Family Portal. If you miss the 7:30 a.m. cutoff time, please email your child’s teacher, so they know your child does not have lunch. For students in LDA, if you miss the 7:30 a.m. cutoff time and your child did not bring lunch to school, we will provide him or her with a sandwich, chips or apple slices, and water from the Charger Cafe. Parents may also bring their child’s lunch to the school office. We are so sorry, but we are unable to accommodate lunch requests after 7:30. Be assured that your child will receive lunch, but it may not be what they otherwise would have ordered. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
- You can keep track of what your child purchases by logging into your FACTS account. We do ask that families discuss any snack or spending guidelines with their child, as the school isn’t able to monitor individual choices at the Café.
To set up your lunch account:
- There’s a $50 minimum per family to start.
- You’ll get a notification when your balance gets down to $25.
